EPA planning TRI burden relief rule
May 2005
The federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has again included the Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) lead rule as one of the primary regulations that the Bush administration intends to reform in the coming year. SGCDpro has worked with OMB, the House Small Business Committee and others to press EPA to enact a burden reduction rule, and the agency reports that a formal burden reduction proposal will be issued in August 2005. It is expected that this reform will include a new simplified reporting format for companies that release less than ten pounds of lead per year to the environment (on-site release). SGCDpro will continue to urge EPA to act as quickly as possible. For more details, contact Andy Bopp, 703-838-2810.
